Thysen Scott's passion is food. He learned to cook at the age of 8, often preparing meals for his large family (8 kids). This was the beginning of a lifetime love affair with food.

Thysen comes from a family of restaurateurs. His mother's side owns the Taco Time franchise. His father owns 7 restaurants in the Seattle area, where Thysen cooked and managed in his mid twenties. His aunt owns one of the largest catering companies in the Seattle area, where Thysen often lent a hand, cooking for up to 1,200 people!

Thysen started GBF Catering in the fall of 2013, after taking food to Rita Hubbard of the Port Townsend Paper Corporation, to treat her for hiring him to install their floors, a past time favorite occupation (he loved making food for his flooring customers).  After the week of installation of her floors, Rita asked Thysen if he could cater the PT Paper Christmas party, for 200 people. GBF Catering was born, and the rest is history.

Thysen and his wife Debi live in Port Ludlow and offer catering through their company, GBF Catering, which stands for God Bless Food. The name is explained clearly as Thysen points up with his finger and says,"all Glory goes to Him".

When you need a local catering team to create an unforgettable experience for your events, you hire GBF Catering. Chef Thysen is award winning and recognized as PT Leader Reader Poll as Best Chef in Jefferson County for the last 3 out of 4 years. GBF features American favorites with a distinctive flair. The catering menu is designed with YOU in mind. The full 8 page menu is available by request.

It takes complicated planning, dedication, and composure to successfully execute an event, Chef Ty and Debi are passionate about your success, only rave reviews from their customers!
